For many years, retirees in the North Texas area have enjoyed
the annual "get-together" provided by TI, yet many have expressed an interest
in opportunities for more frequent communications with fellow workers.
In 1999, TI assembled a team of twenty TI retirees to explore the needs
and benefits of a formal organization for former employees.
Using information
gathered from retiree surveys and group interviews and research on other
corporate retiree groups nationwide, the team determined that a retiree
association could fill a great need in the areas of continued communication,
education, and community. The result is the Texas Instruments Alumni Association.
The volunteer team drafted by-laws, a mission statement, and defined the
purpose for the organization. It also participated in the planning of
the 1999 annual "get-together" for TI retirees, generated its first TI Alumni
Connected newsletter, began work on this TI Alumni Web site, and laid
other groundwork for membership participation and other activities.
We have a good beginning for the TI Alumni Association, but a lot of work remains.
Your help is needed to make the organization a success. If you would like
to help or have any comments, please
send us
an email.
Membership is open to TI retirees and their spouses as well as former TI employees
who are interested in staying connected with the TI family.
