TIAA Seminars
Rescheduled
Two TIAA seminars had to be rescheduled because of the recent bad
weather. Both are free and will be held at the Texins Activity Center on
the Dallas Expressway site.
Tax Preparedness -
1-3:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Texins Activity Center CR1/CR2.
Get up to date on changes affecting the preparation of 2010 tax returns
and tips for 2011. Two speakers will be on the program: Rick Griffith,
Sr. Tax Consultant, with the IRS and John Harman, a CPA. Seating is
limited to 40 attendees. Call the TIAA office at 214-567-8444 to
register by Feb.17, leaving names of those attending and a telephone
contact number.
Digital Photography II - 1-4
p.m., Friday, March 4 at Texins Activity Center CR1/CR2. A follow-on to
last year's popular course which will concentrate on photographic
composition - the ability to see as the camera sees because a photograph
does not reproduce a scene quite the way a human sees it. Learn to
consider things like background, foreground, subject placement, balance,
lighting, etc. Bring your camera and manual and get training from
retired TI Photographer David Drake on how to take better pictures.
David will also answer individual questions about your camera after the
class. Seating is limited to 40 attendees, so call the TIAA office to
reserve your place by Feb. 25.
