The Promises

The TIAA Travel and Events Subcommittee may offer a trip to see The Promise play at Glen Rose this fall and we really need your opinion. We must buy a block of tickets ahead of time to get reserved seats at a group rate. Here are the details on the proposed trip:

Based on Scripture and incorporating the music of award-winning contemporary Christian artists, The Promise brings a modern-day touch to the most amazing story ever told. Audiences experience a smiling, approachable Jesus as He reaches His people and changes their lives. With its sweeping musical score, live animals, and a cast and crew of more than 150 dedicated Christian artists, The Promise is the experience of a lifetime.

In 2009, The Promise celebrates 21 years of performances at the Texas Amphitheater – the largest permanent outdoor theater in the state. This magnificent 3,200-seat venue was designed to create a perfect atmosphere for The Promise. This amphitheater has many outstanding features such as its water-filled moat, rain curtain, and numerous other technological advantages. We think you would truly have an extraordinary experience, as the story of the life of Christ is timeless.

We would leave the Texins Activity Center at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, on a TI bus. We should arrive in Glen Rose about 4:45 p.m. and visit the stores in the Glen Rose square. Then dinner at Anderson’s on the Square at 6 p.m. at our own expense, followed by the trip to the amphitheater. The play concludes about 10:15 p.m. and we should return to TI about 11:45 p.m. The play tickets are fairly expensive, so the total cost of the play and transportation would be $50 for members and $55 for nonmembers.

Would you be interested in such a trip? (No guarantee at this point since it is several months away.) If so, please contact Jessica Stewart at admin@tialumni.org or 214-567-8444.
